Sample of the Business Travel Requirements for an China Visa for UK Citizens
Passport
The applicant's actual passport. The passport must:
- Have at least two blank visa pages
- Be valid six months beyond entry date
- Not be damaged in any way
Photographs
One passport sized colour photograph. The photograph must:
- Have a white background
- Be taken within the last six months
Letter of Invitation
A letter of invitation is required. In order to fulfil this particular requirement the applicant can choose from one of the two options detailed below:
A letter of invitation from the company to be visited in China. A copy is acceptable. This letter must:- Be on company letterhead paper
- Include the full name and address of the inviting company
- Include the fax and phone number of the inviting company
- State the applicants full name, passport number, date of birth and gender exactly as it appears on their passport
- State the relationship between the applicant and the inviter
- State the applicants source of financial support whilst in China
- Include the date(s) of entry and exit
- Include the length of stay and number of entries required
- Specify the place and purpose of the visit
- Bear the seal/stamp of the inviting company
- Bear the signature of the representative of the inviting company
- Be issued within the last six months
- Not be an email

Or
A letter of invitation from the Chinese Foreign Ministry. A copy is acceptable. This letter must:- Be issued by a Duly Authorised Unit
- Bear the seal and signature of the inviting unit
- Be issued within the last six months

Copy of Passport
A clear colour photocopy of the information page(s) from the applicant's passport
Visa Application Form
One fully completed and signed application form
- Applicants must fully complete all answers to all questions
- Questions that do not apply to the applicant must be completed as "not applicable"
- Handwritten forms must be completed in block capitals and black ink only
- Applicants must sign the form in the original
- The application form must be printed on separate sheets of paper
CIBT Order Confirmation
For orders placed on the CIBT website, a copy of the Online Order Confirmation which is sent to you via email, must be submitted.
For all other orders, and where applicable, a completed Manual Order Form should be submitted.
Please note that all card payments will only be made upon completion of the visa application process.
Applicants of Chinese Origin
First time China Visa applicants born in China (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) or those who have previously held Chinese nationality need to supply their former Chinese Passport and/or Identity Card plus one copy or their original Hong Kong/Macau ID or original Taiwan mainland Travel Permit. Applicants applying for a China Visa for the second or subsequent time must supply their current or former passport with Chinese Visa
Applicants who have never held a Hong Kong ID card must supply a cover letter stating this and explaining the reason why. A copy is acceptable.
The applicants name as stated on the Chinese Passport and/or Hong Kong ID card must be identical to the name on their current passport.Media Professionals
Applicants whose occupation includes media related activities are usually only issued a one month single entry visa.
Travel to Tibet, Hong Kong and Macau
Travellers entering Tibet, Hong Kong and Macau are advised to research these destinations individually as seperate regulations may apply
Proof of Previous Visa(s)
Applicants with one or more Chinese visas in the passport supplied must:
- Supply a clear copy of their most recently issued visa
- Supply a clear copy of a previously obtained multi entry visa (if obtained before) when applying for a multi entry
CIBT can provide photocopies on behalf of the applicant for a fee of £10.00 +VATApplicants of Turkish Origin
Applicants of Turkish origin are requested to submit an original invitation from the company in China
Applicants of Sri Lankan Origin
Applicants of Sri Lankan origin must provide their ethnic group and religion which should be handwritten at the bottom of the first page of the visa form

Proof of Accommodation

Parent must sign and complete sections 6 & 7 of the Visa Application Form
Children under the age of 18 are requested to provide the following documents:- Original and copy of long birth certificate
- Original passports of both parents plus a copy of their information page(s)
- Original and copy of their Indefinite Leave to Remain permit
- Old Chinese passport or People's Republic of China Exit and Entry Permit if applicable
Children under the age of 6 are requested to provide the following documents:
Children Under the Age of 6- Copy of long birth certificate must be supplied
- Copy of the information page of both parents passports
- Letter of consent signed by both parents

Applicants requesting a double entry visa are requested to provide a flight and hotel confirmation showing both sets of entry and exit dates
